In a shocking move, Sands PA has removed all of the CSMs from their Blackjack tables. Would have thought they would have implemented them throughout the entire non-smoking area. They were pretty active as Sands has a high volume of BJ players and most flock to the non-smoking area.
Maybe they actually listened to the customers who complained about the machines? Or they are just running experiment number 2 to see if this increase activity at those tables and will make their final decision once all their research is completed?

I was just there yesterday and I'm pretty sure I saw 2 tables with csm's. I could be mistaken. I know they use them on their 2 War tables. People don't care, they still play. Look at Rocky Gap, 100% csm's for over a year now. Horseshoe Baltimore and Maryland Live are close to 50% as well. Dealers don't like them because they enjoy the brief break when they shuffle. I've never counted cards so it really doesn't make a difference to me, although if I do play on one, I make sure to let the pit boss or dealer know that I don't like them.
Also most Maryland casino's are hitting soft 17 now. Again, nobody will care. They're more concerned with trying to hit that Lucky Lady's or their 3 card straight flush.

Bout the only good thing was a 6-card Charlie and dealer hits soft 17. These machines, however, were the favorite of a lot of AP's (myself included who took them for a lot of money) when it came to free-play. Perhaps they realized the card counters at the live tables were not the people they had to worry about.
The other possibility is they are trying to drive their blackjack clientele towards the live tables. With a maximum of $50 per hand and $5 minimum, (combined with the AP's hustling them) the video blackjack may have been seen as a losing variation.
P.S. All the video blackjack consoles have now been converted into table top slot machines. Like anyone needed those, lol.

It was probably also due to casual players complaining that they won't play blackjack against a machine! Similar to when they first started table games in 2010 and had the Large screen Blackjack game with the virtual dealer. That lasted all of 4 months before they did away with it.

As for VP, I don't know. I find VP so boring I lose more due to loss of interest. I end up making the wrong strategy moves. I prefer VBJ even if I give up more edge.
