So the 9 year old Hitachi F382 is dying and I'm not sure what to do about it. I've got a decent collection of Disney and other childrens movies on VHS and I can't afford to replace them all with DVD's right now.
We've got a Sony SLV-N81 I picked up for free plus an $0.86 cent fuse after a lightning strike took out my brother-in-laws Sony system. But the wife doesn't like it very much, 'It's silver and doesn't match the rest, oh and the picture quality's not very good.'
I've heard that the recent crop of VCR's have poor life expectancies (24 months on average.) So that leads into my question, what's the best VCR of ALL TIME, both quality and feature wise???
I need coax and (Composite or SVideo) connections. The wife needs a remote that's easy to use.

Aug 01, 2002 Hey guys any one know which is the best one, i was opting for the looks and the specs, and thought that the slv-820 would be the best option, but in terms of budject i was going for the slv-710 anyone help out If you don't need the extra features of the 820, then the 710 is a fine option to go for. Take a trip down memory lane as Best of the Worst celebrates the 35th anniversary of the release of the first camcorder by filming an entire episode on VHS cameras! You'll laugh.
