DESCRIPTION

Certain power supplies may randomly return incorrect power consumption values to HP Integrated Lights-Out (iLO). When this occurs, iLO interprets the power reading coming from the power supply as zero watts. IPMI reporting is also affected when this occurs.

SCOPE

Any ProLiant ML or DL G6, G7 or Gen8 series server running iLO 2 Firmware Version 2.12 (or earlier), iLO 3 Firmware Version 1.61 (or earlier), iLO 4 Firmware Version 1.30 (or earlier) and configured with any of the following power supplies:

HP 750W Common Slot Gold Hot Plug Power Supply Kit - Option Kit 512327-B21

RESOLUTION

To correct this issue, update to the following versions of iLO firmware:

iLO 2 Firmware Version 2.15 (or later)
iLO 3 Firmware Version 1.65 (or later)
iLO 4 Firmware Version 1.32 (or later)

Perform the following steps to obtain the latest iLO 2 firmware version:

Click on the following link:
Select the appropriate operating system.
Click on 'Firmware - Lights-Out Management.'
Locate, download, and install iLO 2 Firmware Version 2.15 (or later).

Perform the following steps to obtain the latest iLO 3 firmware version:

Click on the following link:
Select the appropriate operating system.
Click on 'Firmware - Lights-Out Management.'
Locate, download, and install iLO 3 Firmware Version 1.65 (or later).

Perform the following steps to obtain the latest iLO 4 firmware version:

Click on the following link:

Locate, download, and install iLO 4 Firmware Version 1.32 (or later).
